Library Volunteers

Story time volunteers work with classes from Kindergarten to Grade 3 each week.  Duties include: reading stories to the children; helping the children select books and learning check-out procedures; alphabetizing and checking cards for complete information and more.  Grade 3 volunteers  instruct the children on how to use the card catalogue. Other volunteers  weekly shelve books, help pull books for special displays and requests, and help with the annual book inventory. Classes for grades 4-8 are taught by the Library Media Specialist who oversees all work done in the Library Media Center and Primary Library.  Book, magazine and CD preparation and repair, catalog preparation and maintenance, process  book and information requests, etc. are duties performed by the Library Technical Assistant.
